You cannot get an IP off FaceBook or a forwarded email. Only your wife can get it from his emails. At this point though, an IP showing that this bastard is in Africa or Malaysia, is just icing on the cake. He is 100% beyond doubt a scammer. You're dealing with a puny, black, African boy.

What Minerva is trying to tell you and your wife, is to cease all contact with him immediately. Do not confront him and/or accuse him of being a scammer. It's going to be frustrating and hard as hell because of the amount of money lost, especially. But please, for the sake of others being scammed by this cockroach, you must walk away like you dropped off the face of the earth.

We will be moving his information you have given thus far, along with any IP's and pictures you post, to our African Scammers, White Males, forum. There Google will forever stash this information and deliver it to anyone else who searches his name, email addresses and/or pictures. Then the others that he is scamming (of course there are others) will be able to discover his lies and thievery.

If he has any clue at all that he's been exposed, he will change his names, emails and pictures and hide again under a new identity. Based on what gets posted here, he'll make up new lies to cover himself in case any others discover this identity. Plus if he learns how you found out, he'll adapt and become better for the next victims. We don't want him educated to be a better scammer!

The money that he's stolen is long gone through a web of untraceable transactions. He cannot be prosecuted or even apprehended by law because he's in Africa and beyond any other country's jurisdiction. The worst you can do to him is stop his cash flow and try to rescue any other 'jobs' he has in his current pipeline.

Do not report him to other sites ie facebook
leave him there as he can then be easily found
once deleted... to make up another profile just as easy for him and then he is lost and his victims too

You should report to as many law enforcement agencies as possible but don't correspond with anyone about this unless you contact them first. It is highly unlikely that anyone from the FBI or IC3 will even respond to your report. You are just a statistic for them. But the bean counters need to know the stats so they can judge how much American money is being siphoned off to Africa before they'll ever do anything legal about the whole problem. Unless you lose millions, they're not going to bother with your report.

Your local police will be good to report to and if they contact you for further information, you can trust who they say they are because you can meet them face to face. Meanwhile it's good to report to them because if the scammer has sent your wife gifts or if he has asked her to cash checks or forward merchandise or online purchases to him - they will all have been bogus and your wife might be held accountable for the money for these things because she's where the paper trail ends. You don't want police arresting her for money laundering or receiving stolen property, so reporting first heads off the likelihood that she'll be prosecuted. Also, if the scammer uses any of her identification information to scam others, if will be on record that she was a victim as well and not involved in scamming.

Meanwhile, if ANYONE contacts you representing law enforcement or a government official of any sort, report that here. DO NOT RESPOND TO IT!!! What these scammers often do is manage to convince their former victims that they are representing some sort of legal agency and offer to help either prosecute the scammer or recover your funds or both. This is another scam, called a recovery scam. They will continue to bilk you of money in hopes of recovering what you lost.

As for your tax liabilities, I am not a tax expert but I do know there is an exemption for losses and theft by deception. Any way you claim it, you will not get any of your money back, you will only be exempting the amount you lost, from taxation. It could save you some taxes you might have otherwise paid, is all. If you've already paid through withholding, then maybe you'll get a larger return.

Thanks Pinky. I did file a complaint with the IC3 the other day. Again, I truly appreciate all the support this site offers. I am still reading thru all the information from others on here. It helps but I have a long way to go to getting my life back and dealing with all of this.

Another one of the many emergencies.....

He was planning to come see me but was hit with a 'business deal issue' that supposedly resulted in freezing his bank account. He even sent documents to backup his story. I am trying to post the images but I keep getting an error so I must be doing something wrong. If you believe it is wise to include them, let me know how I can upload them.
