You could ask him for an email, then analyze the header (see "How to get headers in emails" link in my siggyline) and post the result then dump him.

Just, whatever you do, never tell him you know he is a scammer, and never tell him his details are posted on the internet. We do not want more educated scammers, and endangered victims.
Since you are using your real life email account, I would take FrumpyBB's advice here, and just get an email to post headers/IP, and get those details. Then drop him like a rock without another word.

Of course, I was contact with david_miller002 about 3 mounth but not yet fall in his victim.
he used case for me that he is genaral in Afganistan and his son Alex in Ghana.
Scamer like to used Yahoo com address.so you used hotmail if you add him. you will find he had more address show in your contact list different adress but very close name.please rethik that you contact with scammer whos had head but no brain to find good job!! after you add him will have many person different name come want you add them.They are sacmemer used different name but same person.Stop to contact all whos you add at time you contact with him!!

My housemate recently left her abusive husband and is very vulnerable, I know I've been there myself.
She met a man on BearShare called "Brain Miller" yes she has questioned his spelling.... He originally was saying his last name was Mills tho.... His wife passed away when his son Kelvin was 5, he apparently lives in the Bronx NY but he's been in Accra, Ghana for the past few weeks on business. He's a mechanical engineer and just got a mining contract there but since his business partner is in hospital he had to go himself. While he was there his wallet was stolen. He has mailed her a postcard and a love card from Ghana. He is always online when she is and he has asked her to send him her bank statements, work roster and who knows what else. As yet she hasn't sent him any money I am aware of but did get caught before by a scammer she gave AU$3500 to, she knows that was a scam so is hesitant to send anyone more money. I've spoken to him on Yahoo chat and he doesn't seem to quite have the literacy skills you would expect him to have. He was originally a christian man but then found out she isn't religious no it's not as important to him anymore. She says she's seen him on webcam before but that it doesn't work properly and he can only do it at "home" in NY. There is a phone number on the back of the little parcel he sent but when I called it I was told the number wasn't in service. The code is for Ghana tho.
She's head over heels in love with this man and will be coming into a lot of money after her divorce settlement. How do I make sure this is all legit?? I have HUGE doubts and she knows it.
What information do I need to prove it all one way or another?
Sorry for the huge post and sorry if it's in the wrong place but I really don't want to see her get hurt any more.

Welcome Kizzy. Sadly, there's no way you can make sure this is legit. It's absolutely a scam.

Of course, at this point that's only my educated opinion. Your friend is going to need more than that I'm sure.

Since you're in touch with this person, it would be extremely helpful if you could post up everything you know about him ... email address, email headers/ip address, phone number(s), any known friends or associates, photos, etc. The more information we have the quicker we can get you what you need to prove to your friend she's being scammed.

Ps. If you read around the site a bit you will see that you did NOT make a huge post. And ... if you read scammer emails and chats you just might notice a certain style (poor punctuation, grammar and capitalization) that you may recognize in any messages you or your friend have received from her scammer.

All you need to do is copy/paste the emails with header information and IP into the white posting box.

Drop him now, do not respond to him via email, chat, or phone calls. We do not want him to be warned that he is posted here, please! Say no more, as he has your real life details and is a criminal. Then post what you have up to this point, ok?

I have 'Brain' Miller on my baiter Yahoo chat list. He's a stupid Ghanian scammer who couldn't even spell an Anglo given name. He's been around awhile. I think he's even posted up here, but I'm sure he's using different pictures now because he knew he was exposed here a long time ago.

Only scammers ask for money on the internet. This is true 100% of the time. Real people never ask for money. Since she has been scammed before, the guy she is talking to now could be the same guy, or an associate. He also could have sold her details to another scammer to scam again.

The story you tell is classic scammer story, and there is always another lie to make it seem real.
Get those details to us as soon as you can, tell her she needs to drop him now, and tell her not to tell her scammer we are checking him out!
