She is going to be disappointed at the airport, and perhaps crushed if she finally realizes that is a scam all the way. Try to be there for her, and try to convince her again to drop him completely. He will go so far as to cry on the phone, beg, accuse her of not loving her, and then even threaten her if she does not send the money. It's all an act, and they are good at faking real emotions.

They haven't spoken on the phone. He's apparently going back to the USA in the coming week and she has told him he has to send her new photos and buy a webcam that works. She's giving him way more chances than I would but I think she's so in denial ad blinded by the 'love' that she wants it to be real. She's begun refusing to tell me things, she sees it as me trying to control her, not help her, so I'm backing off. Thank you for all your help though, I'll update again if anything more eventuates.

Do not give up.....Tell her what could happen short time at the meantime until he will arrive the airport
accident on the way to the airport because of that an doctor/friend/lawyer will send her an email requesting money for emergency operation before they can not do this, lost his wallet, he can not pay the BTA (BTA is bullshit doesn't exist), son/daughter gets ill requesting money for OP, he can not pay any tax to leave the country, has no access to his bank accout to get money for the flight, robbed

You are doing a great job with your friend and what she needs now is for you to step in and REALLY explain to her, that she will be stood up at the airport, he will be a no-show. This will hurt her even more. I don't know how you can do it, but you have to convince her to come online with this support group and see for herself, that this love is actually non-existant. It is not real, the only thing that is real is her bank account and that's what he wants.
Keep talking to her, she might get angry with you for awhile, but when she realizes the actual truth behind this low-life, she will thank you - I guarantee that.
We are all here to help and support you and your friend, both of you can post either in the area called the Healing Process or come into the Chat Room, just know there are alot of people on this site who are ready to help.

Kizzy, though the advice RF gave you is excellent, I'm leaning toward you clamming up, especially about romancescam.com and the advice you receive here. The fact that she won't tell you things now makes me believe that she's sharing the info you give her with the scammer. The last thing we want to do is educate him and cause his tactics to mutate away from the usual, which puts both your friend and others at greater risk.
At this point, you might just want to tell her 'he won't arrive, and the reason will be one of many stupid excuses'. You can even write them down, seal the envelope, then show it to her next week. See how well they match up. When the inevitable happens, then you might point her back here. Hopefully by then she will be ready to listen.

Help us keep scammers stupid Post his details here to warn others, then walk away without explanation. Confrontation alerts scammers & makes them change their identities...which makes all your hard work outdated. It messes with their minds if they don't know why you walked away.

I'm with Duckie on this one. My advice to others at this point has always been back off. You make her mad, you alienate her and she digs in deeper with the scammer. Yes she tells him what you say. Yes he coerces her to cut off friendships and caring family. Plus he learns his enemy's (us) tactics. If she cuts herself off from you, she's going to be too humiliated when he doesn't show, to come back and say, "You were right." I hope it's not too late already.
Fact is, he's not going to show. Ever. She will get it eventually. You've planted enough seeds of doubt and she's been scammed before, so I am willing to bet she's not going to send him money. If you can get her back to listen to her when she needs your support, that is what she's going to need next; your shoulder to cry on.
Just tell her, "I am real, I am here, I love you, I will be here for you when you need me."

That's exactly why I'm backing off. She's already told me she's questioned him on certain things like saying 'am' instead of I am etc. He's meant to be flying home to NY today, I already told her that I bet he doesn't go back there or something happens and he has to return to Ghana.
Earlier today she got me to chat to a guy she knows who was demanding money from her, she apparently told him that I had her key card so she couldn't do anything. He was demanding I give it back to her and she go on cam with it to prove she has it. I called him some lovely names and was quite nasty. His name is David Carl (I think) The yahoo he was using was one he'd made up especially for her as it had both their names in it. She was laughing at it all saying she's playing with him but I don't know why she doesn't just block him since she knows he's a scammer. I know what it's like to crave positive attention from men after being mistreated but there has to be a better way than this

I am more than glad to hear back from you, i may want to start by telling you i really appreciate your prompt response,. how is family and how is work? i really would want you to know some few points about me I am single once married i lost my wife some years back ,Am from virginia,Warrenton USA. I find very much peace and tranquility here, stop working after the death of my Wife but now into business just started month ago am into importing Anitique and textile fabric from Canada to Australia got to London 3 days ago it pretty good here in London,UK just looking for the right woman to spend the rest of my life with and can offer me nothing less than a divine and pure love which only leads to a path filled with happiness and joy,Distance, age and tribe doesnt reflect on a man like me i mean if it were based on numbers,"never will a younger man look at an older man and say, you look beautiful, even in the presence of noticeable wrinkles, or who says that there isnt beauty beyond the skin, it doesnt take physical beauty to get a woman to say you look good at the earliest point in the

Now virginia,Warrenton USA so i can just say i lived all my life in virginia cause i had my kids and got married with over here, About my kids ,i have 2 kids Tine and Jerry the kids were so young when i lost their mother in an auto crash,Andrea was a friend to me, more than a lover, she is mother more than a Father, a daughter more than a sister.She was the best of my friends., I thought life would end there, only did i need to be reminded that the fact that something good ends doesnt mean a better thing isnt about to start. I will always say after the death of my My wife that i will never get my self into any relationship but i just thought i cant look after the kids all my self and i need some one i can call my wife,life without a woman is worthless and i always say when the time comes i only need to do it once again and i would know the right woman by looking straight into her eyes,to let you know this if chemistry occour between us you will be the last and second woman i will ever marry , life is too short, how long can a man live without happiness from a good home he builds? So you should know i am not one man any distance would hold back for the sake of love, i havent dated since my wife passed. My mother had similar pains when i was young too and lost my dad...I`m 5.7" 165 with a athletic build ,Am a man who is mentally stable, physically fit, a bunch of laughs, warm, caring, honest, good listening, God Fearing, and a positive person.I am real easy person to talk to and a good listener. I love to play golf and I enjoy chillin` with my kids , I like going to the movies , or watching movies in my room , I like swiming , fishing, listening to music and dance to any kind of music, traveling , going bowling and also a good cook.I am a family oriented person and There is more.
