Unfortunately I do not have the original email [Nov 21]that I received from this guy. Here is a synopsis of his story.
He was born in Ohio and lost his parents when he was 9. His grandmother had a job offer in South Africa and he moved there with her. He has never been married. He said he was a 46 year old Art Collector.
During conversations with him he indicated that he lived in Columbia, MO. His profile stated he lived in Barrington, IL, both on Yahoo and Match.com. When I questioned him on it he said he was moving there when he got home. He said he was in West Africa on business.
I do not watch TV and have not been on the internet in a number of years so I’ve never heard about this Scam. I just recently joined Match.com. Go figure, the very first person I talked to was this guy!
I was suspicious from the start. TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE… but I played it out.
I researched everything as soon as I got offline with him! No accident in OHIO… No Donald Martins with his age. The list goes on…
It took him exactly 5 days to ask me to help him out by opening a checking account so he could transfer money to me. He had signed an agreement with the bank and he couldn’t get money out of the US. He said he had contacted the bank here in the US to figure it out but to no avail. This on Thanksgiving days! I pointed out to him that it was Thanksgiving and the banks were closed and he said he got a hold of a bank rep on a private line. Yea right! He got pretty ticked at me and said he had to go calm down and figure it out. He called me a while later and I barely spoke, I answered only to make him pay for the overseas call! I finally agreed to what he was asking to make him shut up. Of course, I didn’t follow through with it!
After that call I set his number on my phone to go directly to voice mail. He called 4 times the next day, 3 times the next and I finally emailed him with a story why I wasn’t around. He’s leaving me alone now.
However, last night I went back on Match.com and there he was again, this time in Arlington, Illinois. These guys don’t give up! He was using the same pictures he had before, with the exception of the primary photo, which was now black and white. I immediately contacted Match.com and blocked him from seeing me. Although, he was online when I found him and he might already know I’m on to him. Unless it was someone else. But who cares!
I’ve since uploaded the pictures on scamdiggers… nothing.
I’ve even looked at every picture on this sight. Nothing!
It upsets me to no end that they use innocent people like this!
During our last conversation I told him…”If you’re not who you say you are, beware a woman scorned.”
I will continue to keep an eye out for “him” and look for signs of other scammers. They’re actually very easy to find!
Anyway, here are the emails he sent me and the pictures I have of him. Beware ladies! This one is a real charmer! Well spoken, funny, and his spelling is not half bad… Baby is his favorite moniker for you and it gets real annoying fast!

His phone number is 234-234-709097280

Here is the thought going through my head thinking about you. My heart has already found it's way you. I want you and no one else. You will mean everything to me. I think we should try and make this work. You have to know you're the one, and only one I want. Not only are you perfect for me, you will be the perfect friend and I hope we can and will be more. I could never ask for more. I am hoping you're feeling the same way because my heart is set on you, and only you, babe.

How I wish words could express the thoughts that I have towards you. If I should say I am falling in love with you then the greater percent of my words are still unexpressed. But of course, I must say something ... my heart beats for you, and my heart longs for you. I believe through this epistle you will understand me.. I want to take you as a flower in my hand with which I'm charged with for responsibility to look ever after and to keep fresh. Next to you will be like being next to paradise. I will so much appreciate it if you are mine and mine only.

Love always,
Donald

Baby, I love you," that's always how we start. Those five simple words always bring a smile to my face and song to my heart. The day you came into my life a miracle happened. One minute I was resigned to the fact that love was a part of my past, something although painful to think about, was nothing more than mere memory. And then there you were. You opened my heart in ways it had never been opened before. You awakened a part of me that had lay dormant all of life. Although I had loved and been loved before, never had it been so intense and so deep as what i feel for you. This much I am sure of, we will share a love so true that I have never before experienced, the true joy of complete empowering, soul-felt love as i promise. We will get through the roughest of times and still know in our hearts that we can't live without each other and will make it even more special. "It wouldn't matter if it didn't matter..." Baby, you matter to me and I know in my heart I truly matter to you. I am secure in your love as I know you are in mine.. What more could we ask for than to be truly loved and to have found the one we have both been searching for all our lives. Fate has smiled upon us. Let us write our future together. I care about you.

Your Love,
Donald.

Dear Angel,

I can't believe such an angel like you exists! You have been the sweetest, most understanding person I have ever needed. It's hard to believe how much i feel for you already and i promise you the best future ever and I owe my entire life to you. You are my inspiration everyday and I wake up every morning thinking of how wonderful it would be to wake up with you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. No one can ever take your place because there isn't a person like you in the world. Mo ni fe re babe. Thank you for accepting me and believing in our love. I do notice every little thing you do. I love you very much, [name removed]. This feeling is always present when I think of you.

Love always,
Donald.

That's how the phone number showed up on my phone... if one number is missing it's a 4 at the end.

This guy is Still on Match.com. He's in Pennsylvania now. I thought he sounded a little too Good to Be True so I decided to do a Google Search on him and found this! I'm glad I did this before things went too far. I would Never give him or anyone any money. I had another case where I was talking to someone and he asked me for money for his son. I blocked him right away!

So, far with this guy he just told me the same things as he told this other woman. That he was born in Ohio. His parents died when he was young and he moved to South Africa when he was 9. He said he travels and deals with art. He's in West Africa now and will be back in a week. We just started talking, so the farthest we got was that he doesn't have any family!!

He mentioned that he's psychic and he saw me before and we were meant to be together. He kept pressing the issue of whether I thought we were good for each other or not, because he could tell that we were. We haven't even met!

I was telling him I liked the local football team and he said he would take me. So I told him I found tickets with good seats and he ignored me and changed the subject! We were IMing. I had a feeling he was lying.

Since I saw this post I decided to lose contact with him and block him from contacting me. I don't want him to ask me for money.

Donald Martins is on Match and he is saying that he lives in Washington State. He contacted me and immediately asked that I send emails to his personal email preciouusmind@yahoo.com and tell him more about myself. So I sent him an email asking specifically what he wanted to know about me. Below is the email he sent me:

Nice to hear from you. Here is about me , i was born in ohio moved to South Africa with my grandmother at the age of 9 my parents and she had a big job offer there. That was where i grew up and got my accent from. I am an art collector. I collect art from different places in the world to sell to big museums back in the US. I am on a business trip now in West Africa for the first time. I am very outgoing. I like the outdoors. How long have you been on match and what are you looking for?? I am also open to questions. Ask away. Hope to hear again from you

After reading his email I thought that his story sounded similar to this other guy who tried to scam me, his name was Adam and he was in oil, or something like that. So I googled Donald Martins and came across this site. Right now I am just playing along. He wants to talk on the phone but I am pushing that off. In another email he tells me that he'll be back in the states in a week, so I suggested that I meet him at the airport. I noticed that he avoided the subject of meeting, just like Adam did.
