Col. Pedersen Kelvin, colpeddy@yahoo.com

African scammers posing as military personnel.

Falstaf,

Yes, it is best not to post the number here, if a search will lead back to you or your wife's real name.
We want to protect the identity of victims here.
She needs to cancel that phone number, so the scammer cannot use it to scam other victims.
Wonder if she read this thread, or if you sent her a copy of my last advice here?

This is a tough situation, for you and us, when the person being scammed is a family member and the person who come here for help is stuck in the middle. I hope she will listen. :(

Good Day....this poor excuse of a human being is still in operation. He is using Mark Pedersen still. I caught onto him fairly quick and fed him loads of false info. Rather ironic, wonder how he liked a taste of his own medicine? He tells a very sad story. His parents passed about 7 years ago, their names were Erick and Sandy. His wife, who he named Debra, was killed in a car accident 4 years ago. He has one daughter, Emily, who is cared for by a Nanny. He says he is stationed in Iraq and was at Fort Carson in CO. Claimed to be part of the special forces unit. He was retiring in April of 2012. He also said he was born in raised in San Antonio Texas and his parents and wife were buried there as well. He said his deceased wife's mother was estranged from her since she was a child, so he never met his mother in law, and as to the father in law, well he became a deacon in Vatican City. There was just no end as to how low this guy would go! He asked for money fairly quick. He wanted it sent to Ann Clark in Savannah Georgia....then he attempted to advise that Mrs Ann was on vacation in West Africa, so to please send the money to Nwauba Darlington in the city of Ikeja, in the state of Lagos, country Nigeria, zip code 23401. I won't discuss the mistakes he made along the way as hopefully others will identify them as well. Do not want to give any tips on what he should improve! He is still using a yahoo account. He contacted me originally thru Matchmaker.com I hope this post helps others out there before they become victims of this vile person.

Thanks for your post.

I am glad to hear that you not only managed to avoid being scammed but also fed him misinformation, well done.

Would you mind including the email address and some of the earlier emails here if they are different to what is already posted, just because its the same pictures doesn't automatically mean its the same scammer ;)

Hi, I've been scammed by Pedersen.

He is now going under the name of Major James Pedersen, claiming to live in Camden, London. He claims he is an engineer working in Kabul. I got sucked in, he is very charming, said all the right things, when I was at a very vulnerable time. Now I feel even more vulnerable.

He states to have a daughter and that his wife died 2 years ago in a car crash. The picture of a gentleman and his daughter with fish, is what he sent me. He named her Gracie.

I feel so annoyed and upset by his deceit, this was my new life, everything I ever wanted. He asked for money to leave Kabul and come home and start a new life with me. He was looking for just over £1600. I wasn't happy, couldn't understand why I had to pay for him to be able to get leave, and then said if i didn't get him out of there, he could die which means that his daughter would not have a mummy or daddy. Low, really low, anything to pull at the heart strings. Please stay away from this man, he is very charming but has broken my heart.

Hi

I'll give you as much info as I can. He is using the e-mail address:

pedersenj49@yahoo.com

I also have a mobile phone number for him. If you think it is suitable to put the number I have on here, please let me know. Luckily I haven't sent any monies, but he wanted to me complete some forms he sent me, apparently from the UN, so he could get released and we could start our new life!!

On these papers it states that I would need to pay monies which is when everything started to ring alarm bells. All our conversations were via IM.

Please let me know if there is any other info I can give. I don't want this to happen to anybody else. I'm absolutely heartbroken and to make matters worse, he's sent me an e-mail this morning about how our life will be when he gets home, really pulling at the heart strings.

Also, if anybody can advise me if there is anything I should do. He has my mobile number, e-mail addresses. Should I do something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
E

Yes, stop contact with him now. Do not respond to him in any way. Do not answer his calls, block them if you can. He will eventually stop bothering you and move on to his next victims. If you ignore him, he will just give up on you, and he will do nothing with your information, so remain calm about that.

Then, Post his phone number, money request emails with the headers and IPs, chats, the forms he sent to you. Any pictures not posted in this topic. Refer to our FAQ for how to find and post the information we need.

Your posts can help save others. Thanks.

Oh wow, I almost sent this guy money for his military phone. He told me the same information as noted before, is still using Mark Pedersen, is from San Antonio, TX, stationed out of Fort Carson, CO is now in Afganistan and will be coming back to the states in June and retiring. His daughter, Emily or Em is 5, his wife died 4 years ago and his parents died a while ago. He asked for money on the 3rd day we had been chatting, thought something was up especially when he couldn't tell me if there was a SeaWorld in San Antonio, so I started searching for him and am so glad I found this. He wanted money sent to a Melody Huff in Grand Junction CO. She is the secretary for his unit who can get the card for his phone.

This man known as Mark Pederson using markpederson142@gmail.com email contacted me on 3-6-12 through Plenty of Fish. Then we communicated via messenger. He told me he was stationed in Ft. Hood Army Base. By 3-8 he was asking for 2500.00 to help him get a leave because he feared dying in Afghanistan. After I told him that I would call someone I knew high up in the Army and see how the process works. He became very offended. I was calling his bluff because I don't know anyone in the Army. The pictures listed on this website are the same ones that he sent to me by email. I knew automatically that this was a scam. His grammar did not represent a high ranked officer of the US Army. He shared he was from Argentina and his parents had died years ago. His wife died 5 yrs ago from cancer with no children. Also, about 3 months ago I had a different scammer named James Moore from the UK that his wife died 5 yrs ago from cancer with no children and he wanted 10,000.00. I hope one day these kind of people get what they deserve.

Welcome Pjg. Very glad you didn't get taken to the cleaners by this scammer.

Do you have any new details (email addresses, phone numbers, associate names/emails, etc) that might help warn others? If so, please post them.
Help us keep scammers stupid Post his details here to warn others, then walk away without explanation. Confrontation alerts scammers & makes them change their identities...which makes all your hard work outdated. It messes with their minds if they don't know why you walked away.

I met this same man on Match.com. The pictures are the same but now he says he is Sgt. Bill Pedersen from Miami, FL. He changed up his story a bit by claiming to have never been married but has a 17 yr. old son. He added that his mother lives with him when he is in the Stated but while on tour she stays in Mexico. He hasn't asked me for anything yet only because I was upfront and told him I had been scammed once before. This is really crazy!!! I really feel sorry for the guy who is actually in these pictures.

He's now using pedersenmark@yahoo.com. He's "been in Afghanistan" for 2 years (haha)...When I questioned the length of deployment, he said "you must not know anyone in the military", at which point I listed the people that I DO KNOW! I've just IM'd with him (just tonight), so all I know is that he's "due back" in June, will be getting out of the Army after 18 years, is from San Antonio, stationed in Colorado. He's currently listed on match.com as cohearts822. He's "in" Kabul, had a stressful day out patrolling. Obviously, I wasn't buying into the responses that I received and that's why I decided to google him. Will be reporting him to match.com unless I hear something different from y'all! Pretty darn pathetic! Sorry for you ladies that were taken/hurt/whatever!
