I signed up on Match.com and within 4 days I was receiving winks from a "singlemike51@yahoo.com" -- He asked to communicate with me on email and I gave him my 'other' email address to communicate with me. I have to tell you he was very persistent that we communicate on yahoo versus match email. I got a chance to read his profile and it sounded "fishy". One...he listed as his ethnicity as "southern gal through and through" and for an "educated" man he had many mispelled words and grammar errors. I have used this site to look up other potential scammers. I haven't been able to locate his picture but here it is:

There's a little place I was so lucky to discover with my mom in the late 70's, a very small town in the White Mountains, and a nice motel up there. I have been going for a few days up there with my mother every spring, so we can spend some time together,but as life and nature i lost her some years back,both my parents are past. We go hiking and walking in the forest, go for drives through the valleys
stopping and looking at the beautiful mountains, walk about the small shops in the area and sometimes buy some things. The place is called North Woodstock(In England), there's only one main street, with a few side streets, there must be less than 200 people living there. When you are there you can look around in any direction and see mountains.
I am a big sport fan, I do love almost all sports, but most especially football,ice hockey, basketball and baseball. Other things I like are walking or hiking in the parks or woods around my area, watching movies, reading, learning about other places in the world, cold weather and snow, drinking tea, eating chocolate. I enjoy discussion of any topic, so please let me know some of the things you are interested in.

Hi Tara, you were right to be suspicous, there are several indications that this could be a scammer however based on what you have told us so far we can not prove that its a scam.

I bet he didn't. I bet they closed his account after it was reported and he just told you he'd closed it down, likely because he didn't need it anymore now that he'd found you. That's their usual excuse

No, please just drop this scammer cold. Block him, delete him and refuse any correspondence or calls. He has your real life details and could cause you untold grief if you anger him or he finds out you posted him here. Even those of us who bait scammers (and have no fear of them) do so behind the cloak of fake profiles.

And DO NOT tell him you're on to him or that he's been posted on the internet. Not only will he instantly change his identity, but you may inadvertently teach him something that will make him a better scammer.

I just did a google search for the man in the photos posted. I guess the internet is good at checking for lies and scams! He's contacted me from facebook claiming to be Maxwell Brown from London. I suspected he was not legit and I normally ignore random messages however I decided to reply, giving him an alternate email.
