If the photo I get is the same photo I receive when I started talking to this man way back in October on Spokeo, does that mean he is not a scammer because everything I have learned all these months are true and the words he uses are a little different. Would a scammer give you their telephone number?

the best way to check if somebody is a scammer is to check IP address and make sure he is located where he claims to be located.

Betsy dear, you've been in online communication for 8 months and have not met yet. It doesn't sound good. Is he telling you he loves you? Does he tell you his web cam is broken, or only come on cam for a few short minutes and doesn't match what he's saying or do what you ask him to do? Has he asked you for money or sent you checks to cash? Does he call at odd hours of the night? Is he conveniently online when you are? Is he currently in a foreign country? Does he say he's going to come be with you soon? Does he speak with an accent?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, he's likely a scammer. And to answer your question, Yes scammers give out their phone numbers all the time. Many of them have internet phones that can make it look like they are anywhere else other than where they really are.

Please give us his name and email address and we can check out more for you. Add his picture as well. We will not post him as a scammer unless we have proof that he is. If he is not, his information you post will be removed.

I've done a search of that email address and it comes up to a Facebook page where an independent scam reporter is reporting FB scammers. My inclination is to say he is a scammer. He has a Netlog profile where he claims to be in Edinburgh Scotland and he never makes mention of being from Texas.

Betsy, if you have his IP, check it here http://www.iptrackeronline.com/header.php. I'm betting it won't show his emails coming from where he says he is. I smell a rat. Looking for love online + long distance relationship + odd mix of countries + typical scammer email name and email address + a suspicious Betsy = scam. Trust your instincts, girlfriend.

He moved to the u.k a year ago from Texas but he said he lived in Nottingham or Nottingham shire both are in the U.k I tried the iptracker, it came up in the states
