Scammers with pictures from rakheesworld

A new scammer in Ghana.

I met her thru meetic, she claims to be called Rakhii Lauren (rakhiibabe@yahoo.com)


2 pics edited out. FF

She chats with you, tells she's been to Europe and she still has a Visa but about to expire. So she urges you to to invite her on a visit.

First she asks you for a phone that works properly (hers of course doesn't) and later to help her paying the ticket (about $600, until there it was an "affordable risk")

She says everything is ok, thanks to her travel agent (Alen Consult - alenconsult@yahoo.com) who helped her with her documentation. Now she has the tickets and the VISA renewed and, a few days before her alleged departure, she tells you that the travel agent called her saying that there's a new law which requires all travellers to prove they have enough funds to cater for themselves abroad. It's $8000 you have to gather in a few days or she will lose her flight, it's not a fee, she says she will give it back to you as soon as she arrives.

Of course all the scam alarms were red by now (in fact, they were even earlier, but the $600 was a risk I had to take, taking into account the pics hehe)

I contacted the Embassy of my country in Ghana and 1) there was not such dumb law (what a surprise! hehe) 2) UK VISA doesn't work for the rest of the EU.

Maybe the scammer is solely the travel agent (Alen Consult - alenconsult@yahoo.com) and is trying to take advantage of her too. But I highly doubt it.

Odds are if you look at the IP address for the "lady" and the "travel agency" you'll find they came from the same PC.

if you are using Yahoo, there is a link "Full Headers" in the bottom right corner, click on it, it will display full headers.

In the last "Received from:" line you will see the sender's IP.

One thing I've learned in my communication with "African Ladies" is that they (scammers) almost NEVER respond to your questions.

Maybe they are trying to scam too many individuals at once, but every email I've ever received from any "African lady" has been almost "form letter" like.

Heck, even simple questions like "When is your birthday", you can ask in 10+ emails before you get a response.

My advice, make up your own "form list" of questions:

1. When is your birthday?
2. What is your favorite color?
3. You mentioned in your profile you like to cook. What traditional dish would you prepare for me once we meet?

and so on. All you need is a list of 5 to 10 very basic, general questions. Odds are most "ladies" will never answer the questions, instead emailing you their standard scripts for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc, emails with a potential victim.
If a lady doesn't answer the questions, odds are 99.99% that it's a SCAMMER!

The pics that were sent, to ensure that her pictures 'were authentic', I asked that the date/time stamp be left in the picture (as most digital cameras allow). If you look real close in the bottom right in the picture with the white background, you'll find the date stamp was photoshopped in...not a bad job, but there was a change in background:

I did a bit of googling about to try and find the name of the actual model. I found some pics at http://www.gujilis.com, but I wasn't able to find her name. If anyone knows.....

The email I got was the same as posted above, with same ip info. I'm debating whether to send a 3 cent money transfer or not....just for kicks....but I'll probably make an excuse that Western Union wouldn't accept any transfers to Fuzzy.....her auntie.....
