This guy listed a profile on Soulmatch.com under the name of Mike Lawson but readilly gave his alias: Frank Troy Powell.

He also has a yahoo address which I have requested be deleted: powell_troy_frank@yahoo.com

He also gave me this address in Lagos, Nigeria: 4 Churchill Avenue, Bariga, Lagos Nigeria 23401

He also game me this address in Sacramento, CA: 4 Wildermere Avenue, Avenue, Menlo Park Sacramento 94025 and this phone # 916-558-2441

When I called him on his scam, he adamantly insisted he was not a scammer, but i think this guy was new and tried to adopt this alias, because he was not very sly or charismatic. He also sounded very young.

Ladies please be aware of this pic. He is now using the name David James on myspace and davidjames4love@yahoo.com. He is a liar. He lies to say his mom has been in a terrible car accident and needs money for her hospital bill. His story is his wife died in a car accident and he is a single dad with a daughter named Kimmie. He claims to own a Jeep dealership in New York and is in Africa for a visit with his mom. First his story is he has sold cars to the federal government and is waiting for the check to be sent to him but he needs someone in the states to cash it for him and wire him the money to get back home. He wanted me to open a Bank of America account. When I told him I was not comfortable with that he started to ask me to just send him a couple of hundreds of dollars. He got my address by stating he would like to send me post cards and pictures of Africa. With that information he had a check sent to me through FEDEX for several thousands of dollars. I was not comfortable with a check sent to me in my name out the blue for such an amount. So after reading about scams from people less than a week ago I really listen to the warning signs that was going off in my head. I went online and pulled up the bank's name and low and behold the same bank has had a major problem with counterfeit checks, listings the same route number they were using at the time in 2004. Yes ladies in 2004. A name, number, address and email address of a bank representative was listed. I called this very nice lady and gave her the check number and low and behold the check is indeed counterfeit. Yes ladies the check is stolen/counterfeit. Now imagine the shocked that went on my face. This man whispers sweet nothings and promises only to lure you into a web of lies and deceit. I've read several of the other replies, yes he did the same thing to me as he did to many more. Promises of love and marriage. But beware and be careful everyone. Its ashame people are taking the connection of the internet to such a level and its shame someone is using such a sexy man pic for something so wrong. Take their words as a grain of salt and ladies protect your purses just as tight as you protect your heart..

This guy tried 2 scam me about 1 month ago, I met him on blackplanet.com, he goes by the name of Nicholas Thomas aka Peter Jones and these r some of the pix he has sent me, he didnt do a good job at scamming me as he is a fool, and got caught out big time.

This guy is a good con artist. I met him on AmericanSingles.com in September. He was using the email address powell_troy_frank02@yahoo.com. He said he was in Nigeria taking care of his sick mom who was in the hospital and needed money to cover her surgery. Ever since I met him he's been asking for money off and on. Needing $200 here and there. Just recently he wanted me to help him cash a cashier's check for him from Bank of America. I thought it was legit because it was a cashier's check from a legitimate bank, and according to my bank, the funds checked out fine. I just cannot believe I was this stupid! I should have known something was up when I first noticed he was using different profiles on AmericanSingles.com. He has different pictures of himself, and if anyone wants to see them, then please email me at xxxx@yahoo.com! What goes around comes around, and he will get his one day!

This guy is all over the WWW. He contacted me some months ago as Frank Powell of (Brooklyn) New York. His initial contact was through BBPeopleMeet.com. He claimed to be a music exec of Nigerian and Mexican heritage. His grammar was poor and when I'd ask what time it was there (Nigeria), it never added up. My ex is from Nigeria, so I know that there is a 6 hour time difference. His times flunctuated from 5.5 hours to 8 hours. He gave the same BS story of his mom being in a auto accident.

His stupid ass actually had 2 profiles - one listed him as residing in League City, TX and the other in Houston. There's no telling how many more there are. About a year ago, I had seen him on Yahoo personals as residing in NY.

I've seen him on Black Christian People meet...he seems to use God alot...says he is God Fearing...etc.. I have also seen him on Myspace with two different profiles one sayin he is 34 from Dallas Tx and the other saying he is 30 from NY. I called him out on it and he said that someone was stealing his identity and I told him to call the police about it, ofcourse he didn't want to do that and that was about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

He said that his mum raised him alone when his dad died (who was white) and she has taken ill and he had to go back to Nigeria to care for her.

I found this site about a week ago and haven't talked to him since. I have read that it is best not to confront these people but to just ignore them...they move on to the next. He also claims to be an artist...even sent me two photos that he did. HMMMMM I wonder if they are really his work...big dummy...it probably is the perps real "work".
