Hi-
I would like some feedback from people who wish to share some "tips and strategies" that they have learned, that now protects them from being potentially ripped off or emotionally entangled, with scammers at dating sites, on the Internet.
I will share things that I have seen, from some foreign women, that raises red flags, in my mind:
1) "I have shown your letters to my mother [or, father] and she [he] approves of us." (If not a parent, substitute best friend)
Note: Usually within a very short time the woman says something like that
And, it is a prelude to an ensuing ruse...to get you to open up your wallet.
Fortunately, I have not opened my wallet to any, yet.
2) The woman tells of a very-recent tragic death in the family and then asks for money to feed herself and her two orphaned siblings which she must now feed and clothe, all by herself.
Please share some "tip-offs" that you, yourself, have noticed or learned.
And, oh I forgot--
3) [One woman in particular] said that she was married to an American and they lived in xxxxx, NV. (The xxxxx represents a town with a name that is made-up, or fictitious. There is no such place; and, if a woman like that had ever lived in the U.S.A., it is probably a good idea to get her to please tell you again where it was that she lived.)
Hint: If she cannot come up with the correct name of the city--after being asked, again--it is probably something you may wish to keep in the back of your mind as being dubious, at best.
If this is helpful to just one person, then it will have been worth my time to make such a contribution, here.
