It is amazing how many people think its safe to befriend complete strangers online and that article on the last page highlights another angle where people (especially young people) can find themselves in serious trouble through Facebook or other social networking sites.
Many features on FB actively encourage people to befirend as many people as posible which just makes the problem even worse.
There is a lesson to be learnt here and sadly it is a lesson most generations learnt when we were growing up but seem to forget when the computer is turned on, "strangers can be dangerous"

Sweep them out and send them back where they come from!
I think the Malaysian government need a complete rethink of their immigration policy, if a person on a student visa is found guilty of a crime they need to immediately have that visa revoked and be sent packing and any belongings or money found to be the proceeds of crime or given by the government should be taken from them on their way out
The next step is actively catching them which is possible with the right investigation, plain clothes police and monitoring of known internet cafes, rewards for information leading to the arrest of scammers as well as online infiltration.
MY biggest concern for Malaysia is that if they dont act fast the disease will spread, young Malaysian men will see it as easy money and the international reputation of Malaysia as a whole will be ruined
