My mom met a "3 star general" on match.com. She added him on Facebook and has been chatting with him there so I added him as well to check him out. He goes by the name of James Kerry. The Facebook page is brand new and very sparse. He does have a "son" by the name of Harry Kerry listed. I used google image search on his profile picture and came up with a match to William B. Caldwell. After browsing the pictures of William B. Caldwell I noticed that his supposed son's profile picture is one and the same.

Luckily this is a brand new romance with my mother and she is naturally skeptical about online dating so there has been no mention of money yet. I have shared this information with my mother so that she can cut him off quickly.






I have included the two pictures used in both profiles.

I was a bit suspicious so did a search and it brought up the picture of this person on your site alerting me to the fact its a scam. This is the second time in 2 months that I've had an attempted scam through skype - both so called military personnel!

Last night someone claiming to be general cauldwell contacted me via skype messenger. Said he was a single dad with a 14 yr old son unmilitary school. He said he was a single dad having lost his wife 10 years before and was stationed in Afghanistan. He said his sons computer was broken and couldn't call him for security reasons. He said he hasn't heard from his son in a month and wanted to know if I would call his son in Ghana at a military boarding school. Gave me what he said was a mobile # with country code 233. Seemed odd. I ended the conversation. Any one else with a similar experience?

It was a scammer and everything he told you was a lie. Just block him. He would have concocted some catastrophic event that would have led him to beg money from you.
