these instructions are for African scammers. For Russian scammers, just check email headers:
http://romancescam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=10910" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If a scammer uses Hotmail.com, Live.com, MSN.com or Outlook.com you cannot get their IP. Don't even bother checking. You are out of luck, unfortunately.
For other mail providers, there are 2 ways:
1) check their email headers. The detailed instructions on how to check headers are here:
http://romancescam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=10910" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This doesn't work if a scammer is on Gmail.
2) subscribe to Readnotify:
http://www.readnotify.com/?from=bhucqhbmnn3oa" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
please note, that if your scammer uses Gmail, Readnotify is your only option.
There is NO other way. Please note, that email address tracking services like Spokeo, Emailfinder, Everify, etc... DO NOT trace IPs. What you might see in their IP section is merely IP's of Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail or whatever a scammer uses.Those are NOT IPs of scammers, don't confuse.
There is no shortcut. You should either learn how to check headers, or subscribe to Readnotify, it is not expensive.
